Step 1 - Orientation
The orientation video will explain how the diet actually works so you know what to expect as you progress from one step to the next. You will need to view the video all the way through to the end before you can move on to step two, training.
Step 2 - Training
In this step you will learn the twenty-two principles of weight loss and control. There is a great deal of information to cover in order for you to know everything needed to lose and control your weight. It will take a few days for your supplements to arrive so you have time. As you view the introduction and principle videos to their end, a check mark will appear allowing you to know where you are in the process so you can stop and start as you like. Once you have completed all the videos and understand the principles, you will be prompted to move onto the the preparation step.
Step 3 - Preparation
In this step you will view a video to introduce you to preparation. You will customize your food plan and explore factors that might have contributed to your weight gain that can also make losing weight more difficult. We will attempt to help you discover the underlying reasons that fuel your desire to lose weight; the Why that once understood can keep you moving forward when you might otherwise consider giving up. You will establish your current state of health, pick a target weight, and use check a list of things you need to do before you start the diet portion of the preparation step.
You will have access to this step only after you have completed the introduction and all the training videos in Step 2 and clicked the button, Begin Step 3, after the last video.
Step 4 - Weight Loss
In this step you will start the actual weight loss phase of the program. This is where you will add and correspond with your supporters. We will calculate the number of days it will take for you to reach your target based on our past dieters and recalculate your target date based on how well you actually do. Each day you will log in to enter your morning weight and answer a list of questions related to the principles to help you learn what you are doing correctly and where you can make improvements. This process will teach you the consequences of your decisions and improve your ability to apply the principles.
You will have access to this step only after you have completed the preparation video, answered all the preparation questions and clicked the button, Start Weight Loss.
Step 5 - Stabilization
The Stabilizing step is missing from most diets even though keeping the weight off is just as important as losing it. For the first thirty days of stabilization you will practice making small adjustment in the amount of food you eat and applying the principles to keep your weight constant. Keeping it constant for at least 30 days will reset your regulation systems to help keep from gaining the weight back.
You will have access to this step only after you have achieved your target weight. If you need to stop before reaching your target, you can set a new target that will let you start stabilization earlier by clicking here.
Step 6 - Maintenance
Maintenance is where you take what you learned in stabilization and apply it to keep your weight under control. Now that you're in Maintenance you also start eating food from the Maintenance food plan. The foods from the Maintenance and Weight Loss food plans are good for your weight because they are high in nutrients and don't contain all the additives and empty calories that promote weight gain. You can however eat whatever you like, even if it's not on these two plans. Food not on the plan will likely contain additives that will cause inflammation, have very little nutritional value, and will cause you to eat fewer foods that are actually good for your diet and your health. You will monitor your weight and, if it starts to increase, react by using a combination of exercise (if you exercise), eating more food from the weight loss food plan, and applying more of the 22 principles to quickly bring your weight back to normal.
When you are on Maintenance you will be able to use what you learned to eat anything or as much as you want and quickly recover if you start to gain weight. You will no longer need to answer questions but should continue to enter your weight each day. The longer you do, the better your chances that you will not slip back into old habits or let your weight creep back up. As long as you react quickly, your hypothalamus will help you keep your weight stable.
